Developer To Host A Community Meeting 10/22

Brockway Collective developer Tyler Karow has invited the community to a public meeting to talk about the Brockway Collective project. The meeting will be held at The Lift Workspace at 10266 Truckee Airport Rd, Suite C on October 22nd from 6:00 to 7:30pm. This meeting was called by the developer to seek input from the community. The town of Truckee is limited to only 5 public hearings on the development, this does not count at one of those meetings.

Initially, you should call it a positive sign the developer is choosing to voluntarily meet with the community and explain the project and take questions. Honestly the big question is whether this presentation is more of a one way street of telling us how it will be, or if they are truly willing to hear out the public concerns regarding the Brockway Collective. In our time, we been to a lot of these sort of meetings and it can go either way.

There are a whole bunch of explanatory documents at the town project website. But unless you know exactly what you’re looking for, it can be a real challenge to find specific details. I would guess that there will be a polished presentation at this meeting that should make it easier to get an overview of what is planned.

Also, we are noting that the developer is asking for an RSVP via the QR code above. I am not sure why that information is needed. Maybe they are planning on providing a nice steak dinner for participants, or swag bags with Brockway Collective water bottles and “Keep Truckee Housed” bumperstickers?

Participation in the process is the most important thing you can do. Mark your calendars.
